So...since my last blog...I am STILL trying to sell my house. It has been a long road of trying to sell this thing by myself. Using a realtor just costs way too much money for the current market. I have never been so ready to move in my life! And well the reason for that is....
So yes, now I will be living with my HUSBAND. Holy moly is that not the weirdest word to ever come out of MY mouth! I will probably end up moving back *gasp* home with my parents for a few short months until our wedding, but I do need to get rid of my current place first!
Now to the main event here because you know I cannot just skate right by that elephant in the room...
Deric proposed on March 22 at his house. It was perfect, just the two of us at home, no fuss - just the way I like it. I cried of course. He proposed with the most beautiful ring which he picked out all by himself! We'd discussed the idea of getting married and had even talked about how much we both liked Verragio rings, but I didn't know exactly when he was going to propose so it was still a surprise and I had no idea what the ring looked like. It has a stunning princess cut diamond at the center stone and it is set in infinity symbols on each side which are adorned with small diamonds. It also has this very Victorian classic design as part of the band which is my favorite part! It isn't like anything I've ever seen!
So for the last 4 months I've been planning like the wild type-A person I am even though we aren't getting married until May 28, 2016. I have the church, the reception hall, the caterer (who is also making our cakes), the bridesmaids, the groomsmen, the bridesmaids' dresses and shoes, the flower girl and ring bearer, the hotel...and best of all THE DRESS! Oh...I can't wait to show it to everyone when....THE DAY gets here. Yes the world's worst person at keeping secrets is going to keep her wedding dress a secret until those grand doors open at the church and I walk down the aisle. My bridesmaids, my mom, and a few other very select people have seen it!
Our wedding will be royal blue, royal purple, turquoise with accented peacock feathers. I cannot wait for it to all come together! Stay tuned more to come on this!
Update on the kitties...well they are both still around. I had to switch Lily to the most revolting thing on the face of the planet - SOFT cat food. It not only smells gross but it resembles what I imagine gruel to look like. But she loves it and it has helped her vomiting which in turn makes me VERY happy because let me tell you....CLEANING UP VOMIT THREE TIMES OR MORE A DAY IS GROSS! I think her teeth hurt and so she wasn't' really chewing the hard food anymore. She will be 10 in a couple of weeks. I cannot believe it's been that long since she became the first member of my family! I came home from a work outing the other night and she was sitting on Deric's lap. He has officially tamed the beast!
Riley is still Riley - she has got to be the most cuddliest yet most annoying cat ever. She just wants to be touching you and/or in your face all of the time! Well usually it's Deric's face that she wants to be in. She also doesn't lick you when she gives kisses...instead she either a) nibbles on your cheek with those itty bitty tiny front teeth they have or b) she sticks her wet cold nose on your face and just sits there! It's so weird! She is just the weirdest cat ever and I blame most of it on the fact that she got squished before she became my baby. So we don't REALLY know her age, but when I got her the vet gave me an estimate which would make her about 5 years old this July.
Btw...these two still don't enjoy each other's company....oh the joy's of sibling rivalry!!! HA!
On to the next week - I think I might actually set a reminder this week to remember to write something. I want to be able to keep this going because there are a lot of things on the horizon that I want to document so that someday when I am old and gray (or hey maybe in a month when I can't remember) I can come back and read and laugh at what was going on and what I felt to be important at that time.
Until then....
